APOLOGIES

Minutes:

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Tommy MacPherson.

 

Having noted the absence of Councillor MacPherson, the Governance Manager advised that the Campbeltown Common Good Fund was inquorate and as such was a consultation meeting.Ìý

 

The Governance Manager further advised the Trustees that following a decision made by Council at their meeting on Thursday, 19 May 2022, a delegation had been given to the Executive Director with responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Support (or his representative) to determine applications in consultation with Ward 1 Members, and the decisions made would be recorded on that basis.

MINUTE OF PREVIOUS MEETING OF CAMPBELTOWN COMMON GOOD FUND, HELD ON 5 JUNE 2024 pdf icon PDF 115 KB

Minutes:

The Minute of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund, held on 5 June 2024, was approved as a correct record.

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund resolved in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the press and public for the following items of business, on the grounds that it was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

CAMPBELTOWN COMMON GOOD FUND - FINANCIAL STATEMENT

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to a report detailing the current position of the investment transaction activity.

Members agreed to note the statement and balance of income available.Ìý

CAMPBELTOWN COMMON GOOD FUND APPLICATIONS

The GRAB Trust

Minutes:

The Trustees gave consideration to an application from The GRAB Trust.

 

Decision

 

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award The GRAB Trust £1,500.00 to assist with the costs of delivering their ReMake Argyll project in Campbeltown.

Campbeltown Grammar School Parent Council

Minutes:

The Trustees gave consideration to an application from Campbeltown Grammar School Parent Council.

 

Decision

 

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award Campbeltown Grammar School Parent Council £1,500.00 to assist with the costs of a school trip to the UK Parliament.

6.

END OF PROJECT MONITORING

Minutes:

Consideration was given to the End of Project Monitoring information provided in respect of all previous awards from the Fund.Ìý

 

Trustees expressed disappointment in relation to organisations who had failed to return their End of Project Monitoring Reports, and it was agreed that the Senior Committee Assistant would make another request for these to be returned following the meeting.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to note the position of End of Project Monitoring Reports as outlined in the report.

CAMPBELTOWN COMMON GOOD FUND CRITERIA REVIEW pdf icon PDF 124 KB

Minutes:

The Trustees gave consideration to a report which outlined proposed new criteria for the Fund, and incorporated suggestions made by Trustees at the last meeting.

 

The Governance Manager noted that the Community Development Team had offered assistance to any organisations requiring support with completing applications, and contact details for the Community Development Team would be included on the Council website page for the Fund.

 

Decision

 

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to adopt the new criteria, as outlined in the report.

8.

ANY OTHER COMPETENT BUSINESS

Minutes:

Discussion took place in relation to the position of the Kintyre Youth Fund.

 

It was agreed that the Governance Manager and Senior Committee Assistant would liaise with the Council’s Communications team to circulate a social media advertisement for the Fund, prior to the next application deadline.
