Funding boost for local coastline projects

Local coastline initiatives will share 拢1.158 million funding allocated to 番茄视频app from the Scottish Government鈥檚 Crown Estates Fund.

At the Council's Policy and Resources Committee, councillors agreed that the funding should support projects across 番茄视频app:

路         Tobermory railings and flood prevention scheme - 拢145,000

路         Rothesay pontoons improvement - 拢151,000

路         Helensburgh flood mitigation - 拢300,000

路         Campbeltown flood defences - 拢270,000

路         Coastal roads improvements, flood mitigation and emergency works across the area - 拢292,000

Policy Lead for Roads and Infrastructure, Councillor Robin Currie said: 鈥湻咽悠礱pp has more than 4,000 km of coastline. This funding award therefore is very welcome and will benefit a number of communities.鈥

Depute Policy Lead for Economic Growth, Councillor Jim Anderson said: 鈥淢arine Scotland, which distributes the funds, is keen that our coastal communities enjoy the benefits by the end of March 2020. Given the quick turnaround for organising and delivering the work required, funding will support key projects already under way across the area, helping to progress these more quickly than would otherwise have been possible.鈥
