Have your special day in ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp

Did you know that over 600 marriages are conducted by ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp Council’s registrars each year? That’s almost two weddings every day.

In 2002 the law changed in Scotland, allowing people to get married anywhere. Since then, the registrars in ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp have seen an influx of people tying the knot in a variety of beautiful locations across the area.

·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp Council’s Policy Lead for Corporate Services, Councillor Rory Colville, said: “It’s so great to see that people are choosing to get married in ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp. We have some stunning scenery and ceremonies have been held in a huge range of locations, from beaches and castles to the more intimate surroundings of the couple’s home or garden.

“Being a registrar isn’t a 9-5 job and they will do whatever it takes to try and make a couple’s wedding the special day they dreamed of. They can also help with other important family events such as naming ceremonies and re-dedication of marriage vows.â€

There are a range of different ceremonies to inspire you as you create a special day you will never forget. These range from the Celtic custom of Hand-Fasting, to a traditional Scottish Quaich ceremony, or even the Pinning of the Tartan.
