Q is for Qualifications
Earlier on in our A to Z of council services, we told you about ‘Growing Our Own’ – a scheme aimed at giving people opportunities to build rewarding careers with the council.
With this in mind, we thought we’d use the letter Q to focus on Qualifications. Meet Rhian McCuaig. Rhian works as a Digital Marketing Apprentice with the council’s Communications Team and has just passed her year-long Digital Communication apprenticeship in less than 7 months!

She said: “I love my job and I’m so happy to have been given the opportunity to earn qualifications whilst being able to work and gain experience at the same time.
“Leaving ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp to go college or university never really appealed to me, so when this apprenticeship was advertised I jumped at the chance.
“Not only have I now completed my apprenticeship, but I have also been given the opportunity to do additional online courses and take part in a variety of interesting webinars. I’d thoroughly recommend an apprenticeship with the council.â€
