Appeal to use emergency numbers appropriately

Police Scotland and the NHS are appealing to members of the public to use emergency telephone numbers appropriately.   Police Scotland is receiving a number of 999 and 101 calls from people seeking advice on medical matters; looking for information on building/business closures; to complain that shops are low on stock; and to ask if the police will deliver goods to households. These are not police matters.   Similarly, the NHS is experiencing calls to 111 from people looking for isolation notes for their employer. If you require one of these please visit, where you will find the appropriate note under the general advice section.   Misuse of 999, 101 and 111 numbers could cost lives and makes it harder for the police and ambulance service to respond to real emergencies.   Let's work together to keep everyone safe.
