Gaelic Gathering tickets now available

·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp Council is encouraging people to book their tickets for next month’s Gaelic Gathering, which will take place in the Corran Halls, Oban, on 27 April.

Funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, the Gaelic Gathering is a free event that provides an opportunity for organisations, community groups, and individuals to meet with national organisations and share ideas on how they can work in partnership to help grow the Gaelic language.

The Leader of ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp Council, Councillor Robin Currie, said: “The Gaelic Gathering is a great event that enables everyone with an interest in Gaelic the chance to come together and share their thoughts and ideas on how we can work in partnership to strengthen the use of the language.

“Gaelic plays a very important part in the history of ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp and we are committed to doing what we can to ensure its long-term future. It is in all our interests to help it flourish.â€

Jenny Gilruth MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event, alongside representatives from various other organisations.

Holding a Gaelic Gathering every two years is part of the ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵapp Council’s Gaelic Language Plan – a plan created by the council to get more people to learn and speak the language, and make the most of the economic benefits that it brings.

The Gaelic Gathering will run from 10am until 3.30pm and places can be booked on .
